MA 49 - Municipal Departement of Forestry and Urban Agriculture of the City of Vienna

The MA 49 is the coordination unit of all Biosphere Reserve issues affecting the City of Vienna, with the Forest Director (one of the four members of the Supervisory Board for the Biosphärenpark Wienerwald Management Ltd.) and the Biosphere Reserve Coordinator for the City of Vienna.

Austrian Federal Authority (ÖBF AG)

The ÖBF AG are the largest landowner in the Wienerwald. More than 75 percent of the Biosphere Reserve's core zones are within their forest areas. As a supporter of the Wienerwald Biosphere Reserve from the beginning and as a strong Partner within the network, the Austrian Federal Forest Authority provides contractually agreed Services, coordinated by the Management of the Wienerwald Biosphere Reserve.

Nature Parks

The 48 Austrian nature parks cover a total area of almost 500,000 hectares. Four of them are within the Biosphärenpark Wienerwald and are part of our educational partner network. The Austrian Nature Parks provide important habitats for a rich variety of flora and fauna available. These landscapes are full of life model regions for sustainable development and contribute through their activities with a significant contribution to the preservation of characteristic cultural landscapes and biodiversity.
